Ordinary Heroes
by T. Scott Lilly

Everyday people, doing everyday things.
Ordinary people being extra-ordinary

No need to tell you when to do the right thing
You know it when you see it
You can feel it in your heart
And that’s the start, listen to your heart

One plus one is two
That means me and you
Each doing our part
That’s how it starts

Together pitching in
That’s how we begin
Take responsibility
That makes us ordinary

Ordinary heroes, ordinary heroes
Let your spirit sing, let your spirit sing

"Where I'm From"

Student poems and self-potraits reflecting on the questions, “What does home mean to us?” “What physical objects, smells, tastes, sounds, or images remind us of home?” “How can we celebrate our memories by expressing them through writing and art?”
