Maggie Popadiak (she/her/hers) has been the Associate Director of Albany Park Theater Project since 2007, during which time she has directed and choreographed for Port of Entry, Ofrenda, Learning Curve, I Will Kiss These Walls, Home/Land, Feast, Remember Me Like This, and Aquí Estoy. Maggie is also APTP’s Director of School-Based Programs and one of the leaders of APTP’s college counseling program. In 2016, Maggie was one of 10 recipients of a 3Arts Award, which offer applause and deserved recognition to exceptional Chicago-based women artists, artists of color, and artists with disabilities. Maggie’s association with APTP goes back to 1998, when she joined the youth ensemble as a freshman at Roosevelt High School. Her work as an APTP director and performer has been seen at Ellen Gates Starr High School, the Goodman Theatre, Chicago Humanities Festival, Museum of Contemporary Art, Steppenwolf Theatre, Storefront Theatre, Vittum Theater, and at the College of Wooster, George Mason University, Northwestern University, and University of Chicago. Maggie holds a BA in Sociology from the College of Wooster.
