Dominic Bradley is a disabled Black queer multimedia artist based in Brooklyn. Dominic holds a B.A. in Sociology from The Johns Hopkins University and an M.S. in Social Work from Columbia University. This year Dominic has published their original work in INTO Magazine as well as in the commemorative anthology HAY(NA)KU15. Dominic recently was selected to attend the Buddhist Peace Fellowship’s annual Block, Build, Be Leadership Retreat for a deeper dive into the intersection of spirituality and social justice. Dominic’s past explorations into visual arts, writing, performance, and more have taken them from San Francisco LGBT Center to Dixon Place and beyond. As they transition into classrooms, they seek to incorporate somatics, liberation theology, and AfroFuturism into their curriculum.
TAP Work:
“I interned at PS 84 in Williamsburg with a class of third graders. They still had a bit of sweetness about them. It was touching that the students were visibly disappointed when it was time for us to leave.”
Most Memorable TAP Moment:
“Karla Robinson talked about her work in prisons. I recalled her saying that she offered a prayer for safe return before her sessions. That struck me as so profound.”
