Tahmina Sharmin 

Tahmina Sharmin is a Visual Teaching Artist. She was born and raised in Bangladesh. She completed her MFA from University of Development Alternative and BFA from Shanto -Mariam University of Creative Technology in Bangladesh.

Her passion for teaching art began while she was an art student. She volunteered, assisted and led after school art classes and led pre-k art classes in Bangladesh. She moved to New York in 2014. She completed her first internship at Children’s Museum of the Arts in Summer 2015 and the following year she joined the Museum as a Fine Arts Teaching Artist . She did multiple community art projects throughout the Bronx while working at the Museum which inspired her more to dedicate her career to underserved communities. She completed the Teaching Artist Project in Fall 2021. Currently she is working at Art Start and Community-Word Project as a Visual Teaching Artist.
