Stacey Persaud was born in Queens, New York, and at the age of 8, moved with her family to Virginia, where she spent the rest of her childhood and graduated high school. Driven by a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of young people, she returned to New York to pursue her passion for teaching. Stacey now works for the New York City Department of Education and has been proudly teaching for the past four years.
Her path to becoming an educator was inspired by the meaningful role that teachers played in her own life. Education gave Stacey confidence, direction, and a sense of purpose—and now, as a teacher, she is committed to creating that same transformative experience for her students. She believes in the power of a nurturing, inclusive classroom and strives to build an environment where all students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow academically and personally.
Outside the classroom, Stacey enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her family, baking, shopping, and giving back to her community—values that she brings into her teaching and mentoring practices. She is passionate about inspiring the next generation and believes that every child deserves a champion in their corner.
