Kaitlin Hines-Vargas

Kaitlin is an innovative Development Professional, dancer, performer, choreographer, and fitness instructor who has been working in the New York City arts and nonprofit communities for two decades. She began her career fundraising for dance and theater at such organizations as Dance New Amsterdam, Doug Varone & Dancers, and viBe Theater Experience before moving on to larger nonprofits in the social and educational sectors  – among them New York Cares, Asphalt Green, and Education through Music. She believes in the power of storytelling and relationship building as the key elements of sustainable funding for nonprofits of all kinds.

She’s honored to be an advocate and raise vital funds for the transformative creative opportunities that Community-Word Project brings to youth in the five boroughs.

As a dancer, Kaitlin has performed with world, modern and fusion dance companies, including Mosaic Dance Theater Company (2018-2023) and The Anahid Sofian Dance Company (2014-2016), among many others. She has also performed as a soloist citywide and throughout the NY/NJ/PA area. She has presented her own choreography at Dance New Amsterdam, Access Theater, Anahid Sofian Studios, Greenspace, Triskelion Arts, DROM, West Park Presbyterian Church, TADA Theater, Dixon Place, and at the Theater for the New City as part of the Lower East Side Festival of the Arts.

Kaitlin is an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor and will be teaching dance fitness during the 2025 Summer on the Hudson festival.
