Craig Hayes has spent the last 35 years in creative fields in NYC. He believes passionately that early exposure to art through family and school made his career possible. He is a product of the New York State public school system. He holds a BA in Anthropology from New York University and an MFA in Photography from The International Center of Photography and New York University. Craig brings over 15 years of experience in advertising and photography production to Community-Word Project. He is dedicated to ensuring the arts are alive in classrooms and that the stories of kids in underserved schools and communities are heard. A natural storyteller with a keen eye for image making, Craig understands that telling one’s story is a basic human impulse, that it must be part of every child’s education. When schools fail, the next generation suffers.
