Alex is a Director at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) New York on the fund finance origination team where he is responsible for origination, structuring and execution of fund finance transactions for global sponsor clients. Within his role, Alex covers large cap private equity, private credit, real estate and infrastructure managers across the full spectrum of fund lending products and their associated hedging needs. Prior to joining SMBC, Alex held multiple roles at Citigroup, most recently as an associate within the trade finance team covering global trade loans. Alex graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia Honors College with a B.B.A. in Finance and International Business.
Prior to his career in banking, Alex gained a deep appreciation for the importance of literacy and multimodal education as an ESL teacher at the Latin American Association in Atlanta where he taught entry level English. From this role, Alex witnessed the benefits of cultivating personal voice and its positive impact on student outcomes.
Alex resides in NYC with his wife and daughter.
