His family originally coming over to the US from the Soviet Union, Aleks Itskovich grew up in Brooklyn as the child of immigrants. He double-majored in Chemistry and German Language & Literature at Hunter College, before spending a few years working at the Cornell Laboratory for Accelerator-based Sciences and Education (CLASSE). Following this, he pursued a software-engineering degree from NYU and is currently a Director of Engineering at Ethic, a finance startup focused on personalized, values-aligned investing.
Aleks lives in NYC with his young son. In his free time he loves hiking, travelling, and writing poetry.
