In late August, Teaching Artist Project Facilitators Adriana Guzmán-King, Dale Novella Anderson-Lee, and Javan Howard, led a two day intensive for The Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing at Arizona State University.

The team guided twenty Teaching Artists, MFA students, and storytellers through exploring their creative elements, building community in learning spaces, and scaffolding a teaching path.

One participant said the TAP Team, “provided an experience that modeled what a workshop could be along with a presentation and resources that taught us what to do in our workshops.” Participants in the two day intensive received printed and digital resources to help guide their teaching practice throughout the year.

TAP is looking forward to continuing the relationship with the Piper Center and are currently planning future trainings.
