Mary Kinney is a writer and teaching artist living in Ridgewood, Queens. She regularly cries in planetariums, arranges dried flowers, and makes her own soap. She has two rescue cats: one with two teeth, and one who is missing a few. Her current passion project explores the deinstitutionalization of people with intellectual disabilities through memoir, oral history, and investigative journalism.
