Melissa Shaw is a writer, performance artist, and educator. She attended Emerson College in Boston and earned her MFA from Sarah Lawrence College. She has performed and read at various venues throughout the city including the Bowery Poetry Club and Tell It: Brooklyn. Melissa works as a Teaching Artist and facilitator for Girl Be Heard, the Anti-Defamation League, Kolot Chayeinu, and Global Arts to Go. She has taught across a wide variety of populations including the NYPD, Thai English Language Learners and NGO leaders in Vietnam. She is very excited to be joining the faculty of CWP. She resides in Brooklyn.
