Joey Cheng

Joey Cheng ( recently joined Community-Word Project as the Development Assistant in November 2015. Similar to students that CWP serves, she was an ELL student from a public school in a high-risk community. Facing cultural and language barriers, Joey developed an immense appreciation for art at the young age of six. Art class helped her develop bonds between her teachers and peers when words could not. She is passionate about the work that CWP is bringing to underserved children.
Joey is a recent graduate from Cornell University where she received a BA in Economics and minored in Business and in Psychology. She is interested in fundraising and development, and aspires to be the bridge between those with the capacity to give and those who are in need.
