Diya Sawhny is Associate Managing Director in the Analytic & Technology Solutions with Moody’s, based in New York. In this capacity she leads the engagement efforts internally and externally with players in the technology and venture capital worlds in order to coordinate relevant relationships and partnerships with outside firms. Previously she has been at Moody’s in various corporate development and strategic initiatives roles, including identifying, executing and integrating acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, and in developing Moody’s strategic plan.

Diya joined Moody’s in late 2013 with over fifteen years of experience in a variety of roles within financial services. She was a senior analyst at CreditSights where her portfolio included high yield and investment grade healthcare and consumer product companies. Previously, Diya was at Avon Products as a senior member of the corporate development team. While at Avon she was responsible for identifying and evaluating various acquisition and investment opportunities and alliances. Diya started her career in investment banking at Salomon Smith Barney, then Citigroup and Bank of America Securities. She largely focused on capital raising transactions (debt and equity) and mergers and acquisitions for companies in the consumer products sector, completing transactions worth over $30 billion.

A graduate of St. Stephen’s College in New Delhi, India with a B.A., Diya also holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business of New York University. Ms. Sawhny was a Dean’s Scholar with a merit based academic scholarship to Stern.
