"I am soon to graduate from the New & Beginning track in the TATIP program. My wonderful and truly amazing teachers, Patti Chilsen, Renée Watson and Katie Rainey have been an inspiration to us all. They showed us what truly great artistry is, and how fundamental this work is in NYC public schools. This experience has been of incredible value, one I will never forget and one I will always treasure. I had the opportunity to assist at an in-school residency for Community-Word under the guidance of two exceptional and gifted Teaching Artists, Phyllis Capello and Felipe Galindo. The residency focused on collaborating with poetry and visual arts."
Most Memorable TATIP Moment
"I have many memorable TATIP moments. From our very first meeting back in October 2015 to the informational elective seminars, from creating a teaching path and co-presenting a lesson with my new, incredibly good friend Deanna to the excitement of working again with young children, what I love most. From becoming part of a passionate, giving and committed community to using the words of “I have a voice, my voice is powerful, my voice can change the world” still resonate with me. This has been an incredible journey and an unique experience. Thank you all! I have been so fortunate to be part of it. I cannot wait to embark on this new chapter in my life!"
